The property name, LA GUEULE AUX LOUPS («the mouth of the wolves»), reflects a distant past when the surroundings were thickly forested. The family property was originally built 60 years ago to escape from busy neighborhoods and to have a peaceful and quiet environment. The property was completely remodeled in 2010 by the current owner.
Once inside the pine-tree lined boundaries of LGAL, three residences welcome guests.
To the east lies L’Ancienne Ecurie, now an independent apartment for two, but formerly the location of the old stables. Adjoining L’Ancienne Ecurie are the private garages and laundry facilities for guests.
To the west lies Les Aubepines, a private cottage where the owner’s parents are living. Adjoining Les Aubepines is a large BBQ with spit roast and outside terrace where family and friends’ gatherings can be enjoyed.
The Main House at the center overlooks the property from all directions. The ground floor retains the original structure of the old property and is partially private.
The room L’Oree Du Bois is located on the ground floor of the main house and enjoys a private access.
The Common area and three guest rooms, Le Pied a Terrre, La Reine Marguerite, Les Mesanges are located on the first floor, with private access from the terrace.
In the front garden facing south, an old large stone wheel lies amidst the flower garden - a remnant of the area’s history of massive quarry stones used for crushing grains. Traders would journey from as far as Russia to select the stones and carry them home, a long arduous journey lasting one year back in those days.
At the entrance to the Main House stands the original water well of the property, now remodeled, but water can still be drawn from the well just like in times past.
